The police station’s existing surveillance camera was dysfunctional. Its original installer had relocated, leaving the department without technical support or maintenance services.
The department needed reliable video and audio capture, secure storage for interview sessions and evidence, and restricted physical access to recording equipment. The case study identified CJIS requirements as part of this challenge.
Training was also needed so the law enforcement team could operate the system and retrieve recordings for official police business.
OUR APPROACH
A high-quality camera was installed in a ceiling corner of the Interview Room to capture video and audio with an unobtrusive view of interviews.
Video recording equipment was installed in the main floor evidence vault. Physical access was restricted to the Chief of Police and the Detective to support preservation of the chain of evidence.
Black Rock trained the Chief of Police to access, operate, and download recordings for official police business.
